چکیده

Sufficient as well as necessary conditions are studied for a dendrite or a dendroid to be homogeneous with respect to monotone mappings. The obtained results extend ones due to H. Kato and the first named author. A number of open problems are asked.

Topology Proceedings

Some open problems in metric continuum theory are discussed. They concern 1) generalized homogeneity, in particular monotone homogeneity of dendrites; 2) planability of curves; 3) means on continua; 4) contractibility of continua; and 5) selectibility of continua.

Monotone Retracts and Some Characterizations of Dendrites

Let M be a metric continuum containing a fixed point p. The following conditions are shown to be equivalent. (i) M is a dendrite. (ii) Each subcontinuum of M is a monotone retract of M. (iii) M is arcwise connected and each subcontinuum of M containing p is a monotone retract of M.

On Generalized Rigidity

Concepts of chaotic and of rigid spaces with respect to a given class of mappings are introduced and studied in the paper. A special attention is paid to the classes of open and of monotone mappings. The obtained results are applied to dendrites.

On the dynamic of monotone graph, dendrite and dendroid maps

We show that, for monotone graph map f , all the ω-limit sets are finite whenever f has periodic point and for monotone dendrite map, any infinite ω-limit set does not contain periodic points. As a consequence, monotone graph and dendrite maps have no Li-Yorke pairs. However, we built a homeomorphism on a dendroid with a scrambled set having nonempty interior.

Isotropy, homogeneity and dipole saturation

A distribution of points that satisfies the property of local isotropy is not necessarily homogeneous: homogeneity is implied by the condition of local isotropy together with the assumption of analyticity or regularity. Here we show that the evidence of dipole saturation in galaxies (and clusters) catalogues, together with a monotone growth of the monopole, is an evidence of isotropy but not of...
